Beating Preventable Deaths in Remote Areas
EMERGENCY RELIEF PROGRAM
Provision of lifesaving health care services to vulnerable persons during crisis such as natural disasters, wars and epidemics/pandemics. Needs are assessed and intervention carried out with priority given to pregnant women, children less than 5 years of age and the elderly (>65 years of age).
MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH
Sensitization, capacity building and training of traditional birth attendants and local health care providers in order to mitigate maternal and child mortality and morbidity; and provision of lifesaving health care services to poor and vulnerable pregnant women and children less than 5 years of age living in rural communities.
COMMUNITY HEALTH PROGRAM
Build and strengthen sustainable community disease prevention and response in poor rural settings through health promotion and capacity building; and provision of lifesaving health care services to vulnerable groups in rural communities.
STAY ALIVE EMERGENCY SYSTEM
We create and run sustainable local health emergency systems which rely fully on community participation and local resources to ensure that patients in need of urgent medical care in rural areas where there is poor health care access benefit from basic first aid and get to the nearest health facility on time.
